Clothes moth are quite small with a 6-7mm body length and 9-16 mm wingspan. It is the larvae that feeds on the clothing and carpets. Moths prefer fabrics that contain human sweat or body fluids to lay their eggs. When they reach adulthood, their only purpose is to reproduce. The larvae are very small and almost impossible to see. They feed on the keratin protein found in wool, cotton, linen and silk, Also hair and feathers. They can, Like the pantry moth, be found in flour, bran and biscuits. They live in birds nests.

Carpet beetles are another pest that affects not only your carpets but can also contaminate flour and pasta and cause skin irritations like the bed bug and irritate your eyes. You might see the larvae or the droppings which are black and the size of a grain of sand.
